“Trust the process, Graham”

How to Win a Gameshow

A new work, created by - Exit Strategy

This audience interactive piece was initially developed in Amsterdam by Exit Strategy members Jane Skapek, MaryKate Glenn, and Rupert Krueger before being brought to the U.S. where I was added to the production for the second act. In Act One, audience members watch and participate in a game show, as Graham (Rupert), the player, tries and fails to match his descriptions of projected images to those of the audience, all under the watchful eye of “Blue” (MaryKate), the malevolent show host. In Act Two, Graham, having “won” the gameshow, now finds himself in a play reading with amateur actors (audience members) acting out scenes from his life, overseen by a Director/Clinician (me) and his assistant Jaime (Jane). But how are these scenes as performed different from how Graham remembers them?
